Field Experience 10/10/2009
 
The first field experience of this year will be to the Houston Museum of Natural Science on October 15. 

El primer paseo sera al Museo de Ciencias Naturales-Houston el 15 de octubre.
 
 
The students are learning about memoirs. These include diaries, biographies and autobiographies.  For a take home reading assignment this week, students will be responsible for reading chapters in the book "Me llamo Maria Isabel" and answering questions in their journal. 

Estamos aprendiendo sobre el genero literario de memorias.  Ejemplos de estos son diarios, biografias y autobiografias.  Como tarea los estudiantes deben leer "Me llamo Maria Isabel" de Alma Flor Ada y contestar preguntas en su diario.
 
 
Students will have projects to complete through this program. 

The first project is "Scientists and Inventors" which has been sent to the students and will be due Thursday, October 15.  

Los estudiantes tendran proyectos asignados por el programa de "Renzulli Learning".

El primer proyecto es sobre "cientificos e inventores" el cual ya se les mando a los estudiantes.  Este debe ser entregado el jueves, 15 de octubre.

Students have been working on finding the main idea and details of a text.  They have also compared fiction and non fiction.  Now we are ready to begin realistic fiction and summarization.

Los estudiantes han estado trabajando con idea principal y detalles de apoyo.  Tambien han comparado ficcion y no ficcion.  Ahora estan listos para aprender sobre la ficcion realista y hacer resumenes.
 
 
We are well on our way to a wonderful year.  The students have started off with great attitudes.  A lot of enthusiasm has filled our classroom. 

Estamos iniciando un tremendo ano escolar.  Los estudiantes han comenzado con una actitud positiva.  Se ha sembrado mucho entusiasmo en nuestro salon.
